The log cabin Innsbruck is located in a development area and was built by a landscape gardener. The client family has paid special attention to ecology, healthy living and a comfortable living environment. The house was designed as a two-storey residential building with a patio. The covered seating facilities invite you to get together outside in any weather. The winter months can be enjoyed especially in the spacious living room with integrated wood fired stove. After planning and obtaining the building permit by the Chiemgauer Holzhaus Team all interfaces with other specialist trades such as heating electrical installation, etc. were coordinated in detail and under the specifications of the clients. The wood components were produced by a modern and efficient production plant in the factory of Chiemgauer Holzhaus.
The house was built according to KW 40 Plus standard. The heating system, an air-water heat pump, was supplemented by a PV system and a controlled ventilation system with heat recovery. This coordinated energy concept enables the building owners to minimize the costs of managing the relatively large building area and also reduces the ecological footprint. Funding from federal and state governments could be obtained as financial compensation.

In the course of assembly, a twelve centimetre thick unlaminated spruce log is pre-compressed in the wall applying several tons of force via a tensioning device, to in this way reduce setting of the timber to a minimum. Twelve centimetre wood fiberboard panels are fitted on the inside, with ventilation, serving as the services cavity. The buildings biological wall construction is finished on the inside with 40 mm thick joined log planks. All the beams are joined using dovetail joints.
